What type of Optical Infrared Water Level Sensor connects to the Optical Connector?
3-Wire
4-Wire
So how do Optical Infrared Water Level Sensors work?
So why do I want to use them over traditional float switches?
Let's connect an Optical Infrared Water Level Sensor on pin [14] of the IO Expander and read the [i]nput.

It work's just like a float switch! But this highly sensitive device can also be read as an analog input.
Let's read it out of the water, half way, and then completely immersed.

As the water level starts to cover more of the prism the read voltage drops. So this sensor is hightly accurate and can be read either as digital or analog.
